Mediation Service
Once an employment tribunal claim has been made, both parties are contacted by ACAS with the offer to mediate to resolve the dispute between your employee and the workplace.
We are able to act on your behalf in mediation talks with ACAS for a scheduled set of costs. Mediation tends to take place by telephone therefore we set out a specific rate for the mediation service calls that we deal with on your behalf. You will know up front what we will be charging you for.
The objective of ACAS mediation is to reach a conclusion to the workplace dispute without the parties having to proceed to full Employment Tribunal. The conclusion usually includes a compromise settlement and does away with the worry and stress of a pending tribunal hearing.
If mediation does not have the desired outcome for the parties the case does then proceed to tribunal. We highly recommend that you appoint a solicitor to deal with the actual tribunal hearing, to assist we offer legal cover so that you do not have the burden of hefty legal costs.

Obviously we are aware that every call will be clocking up a fee and, that this may deter clients from engaging properly to the mediation service. It is essential that a client understands the benefits of settling the case without going to tribunal. Mediation is by far the best way to settle any unfair dismissal claim arising from the workplace. Clients are strongly advised not to feel pressurised by call times, legal fees for actual tribunal hearings will far outweigh the costs of a few mediation calls..
